Two More Brutal 10 Minute Workouts

StopWatch2I recently wrote a post called “2 Brutal 10 Minute Sandbag Workouts” and it turned out to be incredibly popular. If you happened to miss it, check it out here.

Truth be told I’m not 100% sure why really. Is it that people are short on time and need a quick routine? Is it that people are a little twisted like myself and love how brutally tough they are?  I don’t know.

Regardless of the why though, I thought I would go ahead and post another two options for 10 minute brutal workouts. Again, much like the two in the previous post, these two are incredible additions for your MMA training.

They deliver all the brutal physical and mental fun you could want and the two listed below happen to be bodyweight only. Guess what? There really are NO excuses now. Just 10 minutes and just bodyweight required.

Get on it!

Workout 1: The Bastard Hill

For this workout you need a hill. It needs to be pretty steep and something along the lines of 50 meters long. Obviously not everyone has access to a hill, but if you do get over to it. Trust me, there is very little that can beat hill sprints for fat-loss and conditioning. If you really do have no access to a hill, keep the workout the same but on flat land. It won’t have quite the same kick and the name really makes no sense, but it will still kick your ass.

1a. Hill sprints 50 meters (100% effort)
1b. Walk back down.

Repeat for a total of 10x

Workout 2: There and Back

This is another one of those simple looking, but difficult in execution workouts. You will need to keep a note of your starting point when you begin the workout.

1a. Walking Lunge x 50 steps (25 pr leg)

1b. Bear Crawl back to where you started

Set yourself a timer for 10 minutes and see how many you can push yourself through. Like always, you are only allowed to rest before the lunges and after the bear crawls, never in the middle of a set. Intensity is key here. Remember this is just 10 minutes of your day. It’s nothing. Push yourself hard. We are striving for not only physical toughness, but mental toughness as well.

Do not sell yourself short!

Train your mind hard and train your body hard.
